Program Summary:
Come discuss relevant topics in today’s society with your friends at International Convention! Bring your robe and gavel [but don’t actually] to court the opinions of the people around you. Alternative Oneg 2010, best program of your lives.
Full Description:
Alternative Oneg Overview
This is a program that puts the attendees in the hot seat in a court room, and requires them to work together in order to form the best case possible for themselves as a team. There will be a defense team and a prosecuting team in the case, and they will each have an opportunity to formulate cases for their side and to address the 'Supreme Court' with it. The 'Supreme Court' will not infer that any Jewish morals or laws should be considered when making arguments. After the each side has gotten their chances to speak, the court will rule based off of the Jewish fundamental (seen below). We will then discuss if Jewish Law is in any way relevant to our daily lives and the laws that we have today. After this is completed, we will be explaining the Parsha in an effort to give a better understanding of the Oneg’s purpose and relevance to Judaism, the Jewish people, and the weekend of International Convention!
